Ocean was “malia” (calm) from wednesday thru the weekend. Shoreline took lickins as the waves were down coupled with a minus low tide and no wind 1oo’s of boats/jet skis etc lookin for the little Limpets(opihi),or diving for tako or reef fish,and if lucky -maybe a fat ono or wahoo for the dinner table.we went for Kona crab (one of my faves) and had to throw more back than we kept

with the tough laws on size/sex. Best eating crab in the world in my opinion. Then the oio or bonefish were balled up in a shallow bay and gave us the opportunity to surround them with a net and get our fair share. Fabulous eating fish if you know how to clean them w/o getting the bones. then to top it all off on saturday -we ganged up and hit a secret opihi spot on the north shore and scooped plenty for my friends graduation party.  All in all a productive/fun couple of days on the ol’ o- oh yeah-we socked a nice 20 lb ono on the way home!
