Fishing

It all starts with the fish!

We catch the large majority of fish used for our prints on board our fishing boat, the “Gyotaku”.

Besides the fish we catch, local fisherman bring us their trophy catches to memorialize that special fish.

Kalani and the crew love to go fishing, and Maui’s waters are rich with gamefish, bottom fish and reef fish, so we always have interesting subjects for our gyotaku prints.
